Electrochemical decarboxylative coupling reaction, as a green and efficient organic synthesis method, has received extensive attention in recent years. In this paper, the latest research progress of the electrochemical decarboxylation reaction in the construction of C―C, C―N, C―O and C―X bonds is reviewed. The mechanism of metal-catalyzed electrochemical decarboxylation reaction is emphatically introduced. The key reaction processes such as radical-mediated, carbocation mechanism and electrophoto synergistic catalysis are elaborated in detail. At the same time, the application potential of this reaction in the synthesis of complex molecules is demonstrated. The advantages and limitations of electrochemical decarboxylation are also discussed. At the same time, the current challenges and possible future development directions in this field are prospected. |
